Rebuild Projects: "The Successful and the Not so Much"

Rebuilds: "The Successful and the Not so much"
HBD offers a wide variety of managerial positions, including "rebuild jobs" from their predecessor's failing managerial style, lack of HBD intelligence, or simply a tanking or idiotic monty! Some manage them to success and some just dont, its that simple, and Hobb's has had a little of both.

The spark this year seems to be in Crimsontear's efforts to rebuild Monty's Montreal Expos, now the Trenton Thunder, who were the epitomy of a tanking manager and mess! Thus far, just past the transaction deadline and 116 games in, Crimsontears has matched his previous franchise's record wins, 56 wins set in S2. And boy was this ever a struggle for poor Monty. But with as terrible team as Crimsontears came in with, he sure has done a great job and has been recognized by the league. In a recent press conference manager ajf00529 reportedly credited Crimsontear's efforts when he stated, "wow Trenton is doing some pretty impressive things..." And he is! Nice job!

Still, you have a ways to go to match the "impressive things" that some other managers have done with their "rebuilds" in their debut in Roy Hobbs World. The following is a simple stat sheet of sorts, from best to worst:

MANAGER ------------Season Entered------------Win/loss Differential------------ # of Wins to Wins
(1st) Brettm1220 ------------S2---------------------------+34-------------------------67 to 101!
(2nd) Threester ------------- S2 -------------------------- +30 ------------------------56 to 86
(3rd) Jpelot ----------------- S3 -------------------------- +27 -------------------------50 to 77
(4th) Wholck --------------- S3 --------------------------- +15 -------------------------78 to 93
(5th) Keeid12x ------------- S2 --------------------------- +13 -------------------------78 to 93
(6th) M22Pank ------------- S2 --------------------------- +12 -------------------------79 to 91
(7th) Devonjain ------------- S2 --------------------------- + 8 --------------------------74 to 82
(8th) Wylie715 -------------- S2 --------------------------- + 7 --------------------------85 to 92

Our Top 3 NOT so successful: (for statistical purposes ONLY, a lot plays into what happens from one season to the next, sometimes it's NOT the manager's fault entirely how the season unfolds, that said, here they are.)
(1) Dalejr88sr3 ------------- S2 --------------------------- -23 ---------------------------73 to 50
(2) Emdump --------------- S2 ---------------------------- -16 ---------------------------97 to 81
(2) Ajf00529 --------------- S3 ---------------------------- -13 ---------------------------87 to 74

The top 3 were really our only "True Rebuild Projects." Hobb's has been quite fortunate not to have had all that many projects, and was lucky enough to find great managers to put these teams at the top. Currently leading the NL West is Brettm1220 and his San Francisco Dedringers (73-43) who continue to dominate. In the AL East, with the same record of 73-43, Keeid12x and his dominant Rochester EliteDucks hold a commanding lead and share one the world's best records. Also, Jpelot continues to improve and holds a 2nd place spot with his San Juan Mojos and a respectable 62-54 record. Then there is Threester who currently has a commanding leading over the AL West with his Albuquerque Pilots and a respectable record of 61-55. As for his recent struggles, he has commented that he is "resting just about everyone" as he "figured a safe division lead which is why the losses are mounting."

So the question, which we will have an answer to at the end of this season, is Where will the managers who entered in S4 land on this list? Those managers are: Crimsontears and his Trenton Thunder, patrickkm and the Minnesota North Stars, PoconoMets and his Jackson Stonewall, Ajf00529's Los Angeles Stars (in his transfer from the AL to the NL), The_Oat and the Seattle Mariners (We know, you really had an uphill battle to top what this team did in S3 even on auto-pilot the last half, but still what a great team to do it with.), Thewheaties and Huntington Tyro Mavins, kybucki and the Louisville Sluggers, tamadrumr and the Washington D.C. Lobbyists, ronazbill and his Columbus Buckeyes, moneyguyz and the Nashville Lumberjacks, and of course last but NOT least Blackmamba22 and the Las Vegas Legends. Keep it up guys, dont be the last on the list!
