I find it fitting that after our first season of the Roy Hobbs league, the magic number 61 represents the current record for Home Runs in a single season. Mr. Joe Hutton now with the Buffalo Benchwarmers (previously with the Salem Moon Dogs who are now the Albuquerque Pilots) is the owner of that record and will forever be remembered as the original single season Home Run King. The league is young, however, and it is inevitable that this record will fall. Time will tell just how long this record stands, but if you ask Sidney Fabregas, my guess is he would say that it might not even make it to the all-star break. Fabregas is currently on a home run tear, leading the league with 12 home runs. He has hit a HR in 9 out of his first 13 games, including 3 multi-homer games. And has just about half of his teams league leading 25 homers. No wonder owner greg_quinn wants to clone him. I know it is still early, but its time to start tracking this young Lefty (26) from

If he keeps up this pace, and gets roughly the same number of at bats as last year, he is on pace to hit over 130 home runs. With more than half of the games played prior to the all-star break, he may be the owner of the record by then.
