Reviewing the races at the half-way point....AL version.

We are midway through the season, and it is time to review the standings and my earlier predictions to see how they have stood up so far.

AL North:
Philadelphia    51-30
Kansas City     47-34
Milwaukee       44-37
Montreal          42-39

This is shaping up just about the way I predicted.  The Erffdogs are winning it, with the other 3 teams in a dogfight for second.  I had Montreal and Milwaukee reversed, but the order of all three of these teams will probably change a few times.

AL East:
Syracuse       47-34
Huntington   40-41
Durham        33-48
Trenton        31-50

It certainly isn't "shocking" that Syracuse still has a solid lead, and Huntington has fallen closer to where I expected.  Durham is also performing about as I expected, but I was looking for more out of the Fishermen, and still have expectations that they will be a near .500 team by the time the dust settles.

AL South:
Tampa Bay   50-31
Florida          39-42
Nashville      37-44
Louisville     28-53

Well, the order of these teams is no major surprise, but I didn't see Tampa opening such a big lead over Florida and Nashville.  The Bootleggers have failed to make up ground since their slow start and have basically been treading water in the second quarter.  The Tigers have performed worse, and the Knights are looking like next year can not come soon enough.

AL West:
Las Vegas    44-37
Cheyenne     43-38
San Diego    40-41
Honolulu      37-44

The Hurricanes seem determined to make me look bad.  (And I can do that for myself, thank you very much.)  Here, I have predicted them to go to the Series, and they cannot even get out of the basement.  Maybe it is the jet lag from all that flying.  Vegas is doing just what I expected, but that has turned out to be good enough for first instead of second so far.  Likewise, the Surf Sharks are hovering at .500 as expected.  The Feather Heads have my scratching my head.  I did not see them being in the race at this point, but I have to admit I am rooting for them even though they are screwing up my prognostications.

Analysis of my predictions: three of four divison leaders are as called.  Vegas is leading the fourth division rather than being the first wild card as I expected.  KC, Milwaukee and Montreal are all right in there contending for the last wild card, but Nashville is having trouble getting started, and in the meantime, nicbase keeps sticking his nose under the tent.  If Rattlers can get his team off of island time and they wake up soon, they can still get back ino the AL West race and make my predictions look very good.
