This team really needs a caring and committed owner. The fans, players, coaches, and other team personnel have been dealing with an owner who just didn't want to win. This team has been the victim of a scandalous and controversial owner who either purposefully, or as a result of a baseball IQ of a 5 year old girl, ran the team into the ground. There is some good talent on the team including: Craig Wood, former MVP Miguel Ayala, and Future Stud Pitcher Tracy Winchester. Also there are some great prospects like former top pick Elvis Greenberg and young slugger Juan Mota. In addition, the new owner will somewhat benefit from the previous owners tactics as this team is positioned either #1 or #2 overall for this seasons amateur draft. An attentive owner who is willing to put a healthy team on the feild and make some good moves could have this team playing competetive baseball sooner rather than later.

Comments: Looking to try HBD New manager Crimsontears brings with him a fair amount of experience from SimLeague Baseball where he managed 50 teams, 22 of which made the playoffs, maintained a winning record, and won 1 championship. It appears that this may be the man to turn this ship around. "Monty" all but sunk this one, but the team still has some great tools to work with and crimsontears appears to the right craftsman. Can he bring his winning experience to this sinking ship? Rise it from from the depths that Monty has brought it!? We hope so!!

Minnesota Goldeyes - Season 3 record 64-98 TAKEN

Comments: This team has had its struggles. Winning 71 games in S1 and sinking slowly ever since. New manager patrickkm, who has played one full season in World "Canseco" and has also played some in the Simleagues, will attempt to bring these struggles to an end. The question remains....can he? Still fairly new to HBD patrickkm will be in the spotlight in Minnesota as they seek to rise from "Zanatural's" less than mediocre reign. We also will be watching!

NL West
Arizona Heat - Season 3 Record 75-87 TAKEN
Now Los Angeles Stars Mgr. ajf00529 (Former Mgr. of S3's Mexico City Cucarachas)

There is no doubt that Arizona is a better team than its record reflects. Its owner has been dealing with some serious health issues which led to some inactivity and neglect of the franchise. There is lots of talent and a bright future. It all starts with young ace pitcher Pepe Seguignol, and Steven Swan in the batters box. In the farm system, there are quite a few decent prospects, among them is SS Kenneth Ryan. An active owner can have this team competitive right away.

Comments: ajf00529 joined Hobb's in S3 and brought the AL Cucarachas (now the Florida Sharks) to 74-88 from their 84-75 record in S2. It was a rough season but now ajf00529 has left the AL to try his luck in the NL with Squirrel's abandoned team. With his experience now of 5 seasons in HBD what will be the result of THIS move!?

Jackson Stonewalls - Season 3 Record 103-59 TAKEN

Comments: This team has been the NL South powerhouse winning 103 games in S3 and winning division championships since the beginning of Hobbs but falling short in the playoffs each year. PoconoMets will have his work cut out for him as he attempts to maintain this winning tradition, and improve playoff performance. The pressure is on for this manager with 27 completed HBD seasons but no championship yet. For him this may just be the team and the time! His first move: a slight change in the name, dropping the last "S" from Stonewalls! The team has now been singularized! Perhaps even more unified!? However, will this new manager and the newfound "Unity" change things?....We will see!

AMERICAN LEAGUE - (3 Teams still available)
AL East
Wichita Yankees - Season 3 Record 98-64 TAKEN
Now Louisville Sluggers Mgr. kybucki

Comments: This team has definite playoff potential winning 91 games in S1 and 98 games in S3, and never falling short of .500. Manager kybucki enters Hobb's with absolutely no HBD experience but has proven so far to have sufficient drive to keep this team on top. His first move, to get the hell out of Witchita to the welcoming fans of Louisville. Last year Yankeejoe moved them from being Buffalo Benchwarmers to Witchita, where the infamous Davey Ramirez was "yanked". Kybucki does however bring some experience from other simleagues and will attempt to make winners again out of this solid group. Will he succeed?

Chicago Wardens - Season 3 Record 76-86 TAKEN
Now Columbus Buckeyes Mgr. ronazbill 18 8 1

Comments: This team, at least under Greg_quinn's management as the "Boston Irish", was able to turn 2 89 win seasons out of S1 and S2. In S3, however, Mgr. texanboiler picked the team up and moved them to Chicago where they suffered and turned out a 76-86 record. New manager razonbill, with 18 full HBD seasons, 13 playoff appearances, 8 division titles and 1 WIS championship, will attempt to bring this team back to the top. This will be no easy task though in this competitive division. Especially since the keeid12x's Rochester EliteDucks have been able to maintain the winning tradition first established by Froidl (before "froidling" himelf in the rule 5 draft (See the blog) and losing the likes of Craig Wood and others). And on top of it all, Froidl's team was from Columbus! Remember "Columbus Discovered America"? Yes, the Columbus Buckeyes's will rival the Rochester EliteDucks, who were originally Columbus's team! This may add some heat to the rivalry! A rivalry that the league will be watching with a close eye!

Burlington Catamounts - Season 3 Record 77-85 TAKEN

Comments: This team, as new manager tamadrumr may soon find out, is built with speed. Hawk Smith, although far from the team star, may help to get tamadrumr and his Lobbyists where they want to be coming off their worst season yet. They won 86 games in S1 and 92 in S2, making it to the playoffs only to be knocked out by the Super Power in Seattle. This new manager was reported to enter with 13 total seasons and 8 division titles, inlcuding 1 WIS championship to the team. Later he commented to the press, "You forgot my 10 playoff appearances in 13 seasons, 7 LCS trips, 3 WS appearances and that spelling bee I won in 4th grade...not that I'm keeping track." You may not be, but we are! Make that 1 spelling bee! Still, this may be just what this team needs to rise to the top!

AL South
Huntington Tide - Season 3 Record 82-80

Comments: This team is one of the better buys for the new managers of S4. A team that comes equipped with some great talent. The biggest problem for new manger thewheaties should be the New Orleans Bayou Bengals who have emerged as an AL superpower who had Hobbs best season ever last season. Manager thewheaties brings 14 seasons of experience, and has reached the playoffs 4 times. Perhaps this will be the move that leads to success for both this manager and this young team.

Mexico City Cucarachas - Season 3 record 74-88

Comments: Mexico City is a franchise with some definite some holes to fill but is a team with enough talent to rise to the top quickly. This team originated in San Antonio where the won 89 gams and headed into the playoffs as the Roughriders. They then moved to Iowa City in S2 where the won 87 games as the Wonderboys, making the playoffs for the second year in a row. Then, under direction of ajf00529 (now manger of the NL Los Angeles Stars) this teamed turned in their wost season with 74 wins. (Sorry ajf00529, maybe just bad luck). So the problem here has been stability, as they have now moved and had a new manager in as many seasons as Hobb's has been in existence. Moneyguyz brings simleague experience but is new to HBD. Can he bring this team back to the playoffs for S4? Perhaps ajf00529, because of his move to the NL, will be more willing to lend some roster advice!



AL West
Salem Thunder Stixx - Season 3 Record 67-95

Comments: As Trenton Thunder's AL counterpart, this team is the AL rebuild project that will require a lot of work in order to recover from what has transpired over the first 3 seasons. This franchise has acquired its 3rd manager (blackmamba22) and has moved 4 times now. Originally born in SanJose, where the team backed into the playoffs with 76 wins, this franchise and former manager (cincysteve) moved to Portland for S2 where he then abandoned ship. In S3 under direction of mgr. bowlum, even with team rising star Don Yamaguchi (aquired in a Rule 5 "froidlian" blunder) and a new start in Salem, this franchise had their worst season ever with 67 wins. Perhaps Salem is a curse!?

I may be on to something here too! Some may recall that the Salem Thunder Stixx (of S3) were not the 1st Salem team to sink. Salem's 1st team, the Moondogs, won only 55 games in S1 which drove their captain (bossmao) to abandon the team before the season even ended. That team, now the San Diego Surf Sharks, led by mgr. Iceman67, continues to operate under what appears to be a hex as they have yet to top 62 wins. (Sorry Iceman, hang in there!) Perhaps the witch trials should have been conducted on the west coast as well as the east as Salem appears to be a black hole for Hobb's world managers. Looking up though, although he brings no HBD experience to the table, new manager blackmamba22 appears to have already made a move in the right direction - to Sin City! So why is the right direction you might be asking? Especially when Las Vegas has already had a team, tarktheshark's Las Vegas Marauders of S1, who only won 67 games before they were also abandoned for S2. Well!, this Las Vegas born team that was abandoned was adopted by brettm1220 in S2. Who moved the team from "Sin CIty" to S.F where they won the NL West division with 101 games. Then, of course, went on to do it again in S3 taking along with their NL West title, and NL title, the World Championship. Yes, the champion San Francisco Dedringers were born in Sin City! Hence the move in the right direction. All blackmamba22 needs to do for S5 then, according to this theory, is either (1) move the team to S.F or (2) hand the team over to brettm1220, and Waa..lah! S6 Championship is all theirs!
