Coach Please, My arms on the ground!"Get in there and pitch damnitt! The hell if I'll have us win this game."
So, imagine this happening in the MLB. You wake up to read in the morning news: "Chicago Cubs Lose 29 Straight: The Result, a #1 Draft Pick!" Montreal lost their last 29 games in season I, ending with a 47 -115 record. Big deal right? So the team slipped into a slump! Even if the immediate fruit was: Craig Wood and Elvis Greenberg, so what, right? Consider the "Moon Dogs" though, whom Threester adopted for season II, they were by far the worst team in season I and struggled the entire season. They were run by a manger who basically gave up, hardly even checked in. Believe me, I would be the one to know. Yet still, as incredible as it may seem, never lost more than 10 straight. In fact, managed to win 2 of their last 10 games, ending the season at 56 -106. Let's just look past this though. As incredible as it is to lose 29 straight! Really, lets just let that slide.
So this year rolls around and Montreal is certainly out with a record of 51 - 84 when what happens next? Same as last year. The losing streak begins. The schedule will indicate that a 3 man rotation was utilized beginning 10/25pm2 and lasting until 10/28pm2. Mitch Pose , B.C. Wilfredo , and Matt McClellan were the only ones to start over this 10 game span. Being dropped to RP duties were Norman West , Ozzie Ono , and Lawrence Richardson who previously shared the SP duties. Then on 10/29pm, after 10 straight losses, due to a tired and plain worn out 3 man rotation: West, Ono and Richardson should have been ready to go right? Wrong! In comes Joshua Merrick to pitch not 1, not 2, but 3 straight games! (10/29pm , 10/29pm2 , and 10/30am.) Written before the 10/30 sim: According to World Office > Reports > Team Depth Charts, Montreal has since changed this - after being confronted - but Merrick will still get the 3rd straight start. Likewise, he will most likely assure the team yet another loss as well. He will be DEAD TIRED or just PLAIN DEAD following the game! After the Sim: Well what do ya know!? Upon being confronted, manager Montrealexps set Merrick's pitchcount to 5 and the 100% Lawrence Richardson replaced the O% starter after only 5 pitches. The result: A win! and placing an end to a 12 game losing streak! Amazing what one can do when they put their mind to it. It was that easy all along! The question now: What did my confronting him have to do with it? Would he have still changed the pitch count? Remember the old NFL game? "You make the call!"
Also written before the sim: My point is this: After pitching 3 men to death and sitting on a 10 game losing streak, wouldn't you want to pull the team out of this tail spin, even if post season was out of the question? Especially if you're the guy that claims that there's " no sabotage involved... I have too much respect for myself, this league and WIS"? I'd have to disagree if you're thinking anything other that YES! So does pitching the same guy for the next 3 straight games make any sense? Unless, of course, you're trying to lose?
C'mon fellas, really? We're just going to allow this guy to throw games and once again, get the 1st, or at least a lower overall pick? So he can't manage a ball club to save his life; and gets his feelings hurt when you tell him his trade is unfair, "Don't write me again!" he says! He's still a classic "Tanker". He writes: "Won't change the fact that your name is stan and that your franchise lacks a plan." Okay, so he has a plan. I'm fine with his obvious plan to bank on the future: (1) Leading the league with 39Mil. spent on IFA's. (2) Lowest player salary cap of 37MIl. But allowing him to add a 3rd element to his plan: (3) To secure the #1 draft pick and rule 5 guys each year. . . C'mon? Really, this is OK with everybody?
[If you're still saying so what? Then please speak up. There's a comment button at the bottom of this post. Yeah, this is a game and it's fun but don't let some joker manipulate the system. If the Cubs did this, or any team for that matter, don't you think the league would step in? I sure do.]

I prefer a league that has owners with integrity.
There is a admirable way to lose by fielding an altered line-up justifiably and letting the sim do its thing. Then there is an aggressive way to try and lose by using fatigued players, players at wrong positions, etc.
Its a dirty job weeding out the pretenders but is neccessary. I totally support having an eye on the World to regulate fair competition.
