Change of Ownership

The Teams Available: Not returning for season 2

New York Yankees (NL EAST) 85 - 77 (Team 1 in Forum) This team made a great run in S1 leading the division for a good chunk of the early season. They have a lot of talent with all-stars Carlos Ozuna , Artie Pratt , and gold glovers Ned Price, and Jon Hernandez . The farm has scattered talent and with the 21st overall pick a clever manager may give this team the boost they need to top Dover, Scranton, and Hartford in a another tough Hobbs division.

Little Rock Razorbacks (NL SOUTH) 74 - 88 (Team 3 In Forum)This team will have the 9th pick overall to help gold glover Lyle Field and the rest bring the team from the depths of the division. They are a young and improving team with only one guy over 30. The farm has some good talent in both position players and pitching. This record seems to be the result of poor managing as this team appears far more capable that a below .500 team. This team is in desperate need of a manger who knows what he is doing.

Detroit Dingleberries (AL North) 79 - 83 (Team 4 In Forum) Didn't make the playoffs but has a very good but aging pitching staff, including ace Javier Mendoza, and all-star Cristobal Taveras. They have a strong middle infield and although performance was lacking in the minor leagues as a whole, they do have scattered talent. Detroit is in a very competitive division and this team needs a fiery manger to help wrestle down Seattle. Have the 14th overall pick + a potential 1st round supplemental pick (33rd overall), in S2's draft.

San Antonio Rough Riders (AL SOUTH) 89 -73 (Claimed by Kevbo65)(Team 5 In Forum) The rough Riders made the playoffs in S1 but were eliminated in the division championship series by S1 champs Seattle. This team can be menacing with 3 All-star pitchers in Mitchell Waters , Rusty Cox and ace Tony Miller . The offense is a force to be reckoned with as well, lead by 2B all-star Lee Collins. This team should do well in S2, and could be their year with a few right moves. They have the 25th overall pick in draft.

Monterrey Sultanes (AL SOUTH) 73 -89 (Team 6 in forum) They missed the playoffs in S1 but with 26yr old absolute ace Geronimo Julio , League Cy Young, this team is in great shape. He lead the league in wins, Complete games, era, and whip! This guy is a super star. The offense, however, is balanced, all -star Ernest Kirkland turned 34 this year but is not the best guy on the team. The farm is full and with the 8th round pick a new manager may be able to provide Geronimo with much needed help.

The Teams Taken

Cincinnati Bearcats (SOLD) (NL North) 79 -83 This team won their division in S1, and will be a contender for the next. A good offense with gold glove winning RF Theodore Laroche, and a 21 year old ace closer in Brian Shave. Will need pitching for future as many are aging, but with a strong farm a good manager should keep this team tops. Have the 13th overall pick in draft.
New Owner: Now the Cincinnati Queens , kramr10 "Welcome to Roy Hobbs!"

Salem Moon Dogs (SOLD) (AL West) 56 - 106 This record is a result of poor managing, they are better than their record. Team desperately needs pitching and has an average offense, not to mention all star C Joe Hutton who lead the league in with 61 HR's. Will have the 2nd pick in the draft and has a lot of available cap to work with. Has some talented minor league prospects, especially in Low-A, where they were the 1st seed going into the playoffs.
New Owner: Now the Albuquerque Pilots , threester "Welcome to Roy Hobbs!"

St. Louis Cardinals (SOLD) (AL North) 80 - 82 This team made a good run toward the end and has plenty of cap to work with. A well balanced team in Pitching and offense with a strong Hi-A. A good manager will have this team playoff bound with a few right moves.
New Owner: Now the Pittsburgh Bucos, hoss1 "Welcome to Roy Hobbs!"

Las Vegas Marauders (SOLD) (NL West) 69-75 The Las Vegas Marauders have one of the brightest futures in the league. Its minor league system is full of bright young starts and all but the rookie league finished first in the division. The major league team lacks pitching, but has young 21 year old Doug Power, who in only 122 games last season hit 39 HR and 117 RBI's, and 25 year old Rod Allen finished with 38 HR. There is definitely some work to do, but with the right manager and the wealth of talent in the minors, this team could compete real soon, and for a really long time.
New Owner: Now the San Francisco Dedringers, brettm1220 "Welcome to Roy Hobbs!"

Columbus Discovered America (AL EAST) 80 -82 This team has a solid pitching core which carried the team in S1. A few have reached their 30's, but may be in their prime as this core has what it takes right now. The offense was average in S1 but underperformed, team stars Red Howard (P) and Benito Armas (CF) are up for contract extensions or free agency so a manager will have plenty of decisions to make. Perhaps an overhaul of the offense with the talent from the farm may be in order, and the 16th overall pick in the draft will sure help.
Original Owner Froidl Returns! "Welcome to Roy Hobbs!"

San Diego Sanchos (AL West) 61-101 This team needs work that is for sure. However, there are many prospects in the system, pitching as well as hitting. One prospect that deserves mentioning is #2 Overall Draft Pick Omar Ordaz. In 82 games at the AA level, Ordaz hit 37 HR and 105 RBI's with a BA of .348 and an OBP of .439. It might be worth managing this guy just to see how good he will be. Also with another top 3 pick in this years draft a good owner could have this team on top in no time.
New Owner: Iceman67 - Now the San Diego Surf Sharks - Welcome to Roy Hobbs!

Hartford Hand Bananas (NL EAST) 83 -79 (Reserved by Bluecrew65) (Team 2 In Forum) In a tough division Harford's new manager may just need to make one or two acquisitions and moves to boost them over the other teams and into the playoffs. NL Rookie of the year Diego Valdes will help, and with some great talent in the minors such as Don Yamaguchi, of double A who is just begging to be called up, the adjustment can be made. This team also has the 19th overall pick in the draft.
New Owner: BlueCrew65 - Now the Jacksonville Suns - Welcome to Roy Hobbs!

Mexico City Eloteros (NL South) 97 -65 Made the playoffs with one of the best records. Could take it all with the right managerial moves for S2. Good pitching and great offense, including all star and league MVP from S1 Miguel Ayala, and All-Stars Ernie Black and Del Kuo. Not to mention rookie of the year contender Clay Morgan. Team also has up coming talent in the minor league farm. Overall a team ready to run with.
New Owner: Emdump - Now Tampa Bay Citrus - Welcome to Roy Hobbs!
